CATHI WHITING (1957 - )

Vivid, dramatic colors and a stylistic contemporary flair exemplify the work of British artist Cathi Whiting. She aspires to fill the world with color. In explanation, she states, "Seeing and feeling the wealth of colours in our lives, it seems churlish to be restrictive with the palette. And if sometimes the vase of flowers (or ) the wooden chair seem a little off balance, it is the force and energy of the colours in which they are bound which keeps them from falling completely."

After obtaining her art degree, Whiting moved to London where she began working for the Peter Morson Studio, producing limited edition silkscreen prints. She soon took to creating her own work, contributing to and participating in many group exhibitions in England and throughout Europe.
